Wizard: "Cmon dude, just pay already! Or forget that stupid quest of yours, you are not getting anywhere without this portal!" Somethings lurking behind their backs.. lol
I decided to paint this piece really vibrant and throw in something random as I paint, like a brainstorm process. I also deliberately didn't wanna go into details or bump the shadows up that are cast from the characters as they are not the main focus of this composition. It started out as a speedpaint; wanted to create some detailed scenery from it, then an interesting shape popped up and I changed my mind quickly. PS CS6, Around 7hours. I absolutely LOVE fantasy and creating my own mysterious and magical worlds, its just this awesome feeling that drives me to paint these things.
If you like my art you can always commission me for all kinds of things, fantasy, portraits, characters, dragons, sci-fi, everything!. All your support is greatly appreciated. <3
EDIT: WOah a DD, Thank you so much for suggesting and featuring my work <33
The picture overall is amazing, and I assume it must have required a lot of work to create a picture this amazing. If you look, hidden everywhere are bright, vibrant colors, almost impossible to seek out, but there. The portal (at least, that's what I assume it is) on the hut clearly stands out against everything else but it is also part of a huge part in the picture. It is one of the best and most unique picture I've ever seen, and aside from your other works I have never seen anything like it. The colors are vibrant yet easy to the eye and the brush techniques are amazing. It's quite a fabulous piece of art, and I might buy it as a print on a canvas.
This piece really caught my eye whilst browsing the DDs,
A very nice use of bright colour which immediately draws you in and lets the imagination go wild.
The contrast between the dark on the right-hand side and the blinding light on the left-hand side looks very well thought out, coupled with the portal slap bang in the middle of the piece which gives the piece a sense of mystery about it.
The reason for marking this piece of artwork down was the lack of depth within the piece, it seems somewhat flat to me. Maybe because of the angles you created or that the tones don't vary enough?
All in all, congrats on the DD and much luck with pieces to come c:
I know you probably get a whole lot of comments on your works and don't have time to thoroughly read them all, but I write music. I'm starting up a new project very soon where I take art from dA that inspires me and write a piece of music to match it, almost like film score for still images. Of all the pieces of art that I've favourited and stored, I can actually hear music to this one and I can really connect with it. May I use it in my project? I'd write a piece of music, then stick it and the picture on youtube (and of course include links to your dA account and any other website related to your work that this picture is on). I totally understand if you don't want me to but it would be super cool if I could. This is one of the pieces of art that I could hear most!
Hi, I am really honored that you find my work so unique. Yes you may use this piece Best of luck and please send me a link after you publish the work somewhere. Sanji
Great! Thanks! I'll be sure to send you a link. Be warned, it could take a while. Also, are there any websites aside from your deviantArt account that you want me to put in there? I want you to be able to get as much exposure as possible.
If only this place were real!
